Original artwork made from a vintage image of a Lily, some other flowers, old letters and papers, gold leaf and encaustic wax.  
 
I made a base tile from card and collaged numerous pieces of vintage letters and papers and an image from an antique gardening book in an abstract composition.  I then added encaustic wax and gold leaf.  This creates a beautifully layered effect with glimpses of the different paper showing through.  The wax gives a really ethereal appearance.
 
It is mounted on a matboard, ready for framing which is 6 x 6 inches. I painted the matboard with chalk paint to give it a lovely finish. The actual collage is approximately 4 x 4 inches. 
 
This is a really exquisite piece of art, and truly original, all handmade by me in my studio in Somerset, UK. 
 
This is made from vintage materials so it looks old...please expect signs of wear on the materials.
