This beautiful original assemblage artwork was created as part of the Artful Memories Challenge, where a new piece is made each day in response to a creative prompt. The inspiration for this piece was:
 
"Elliot found a pair of red slippers in grandma‘s attic'."
 
I created a pair of slippers from an antique school photograph, showing children's faces. The slippers are quite brittle due to the age of the original photo from which they are made. They have painted red insoles. The artwork is presented in a vintage playing card box that I carefully adapted to complement the piece.
 
Dimensions: approximately 2.5 x 3.5 x 1 inches plus about 2 inches where the legs extend.
