Original artwork. Pair of collages made from numerous vintage papers, photographs and encaustic wax.  Mont St Michel is in Brittany, Northern France and St Michaels Mount is in Cornwall in the South of the UK.  Both are magical and I decided to make this diptych of them.
 
I made base tiles from card and collaged numerous pieces of vintage letters and papers and an old image. I then added encaustic wax. This creates a beautifully layered effect with the papers looking like waves on the ocean. The wax gives a really ethereal appearance.
 
Each piece is 6 x 4 and could be mounted and frames separately or as a pair in one frame.
 
NB the shells and seaweed are for dressing the photograph and are not included.

This is a really exquisite piece of art, and truly original, all handmade by me in my studio in Somerset, UK.
 
This is made from vintage materials so it looks old...please expect signs of wear on the materials.
