This beautiful original assemblage artwork was created as part of the Artful Memories Challenge, where a new piece is made each day in response to a creative prompt. The inspiration for this piece was:
 
"Mirelle, the portrait artist, painted people exactly as they wanted to be seen'."
 
I combined an antique photograph with text saying 'not just a pretty face typed on a vintage typewriter and painted a walnut in gilding enamel to represent a brain. The artwork is presented in a vintage playing card box that I carefully adapted to complement the piece. I cannot guarantee the longevity of the walnut... it will degrade over time!
