This beautiful original assemblage artwork was created as part of the Artful Memories Challenge, where a new piece is made each day in response to a creative prompt. The inspiration for this piece was:
 
"‘Adrian, the surgeon, had miracle hands. Stitching together hope and life with quiet precision."
 
I used an antique cabinet card portrait photo and stitched it, to represent the surgeons stitches. This was combined with a silk cushion holding a needle. The artwork is presented in a vintage playing card box that I carefully adapted to complement the piece.
 
Dimensions: approximately 2.5 x 3.5 x 1 inches plus about 2 inches where the legs extend.
