About the event
What is a Queenage Art Journaler? She is a vibrant woman who is embracing middle age and beyond, with creativity and grace, using her art journal to express, explore, and celebrate her journey through life. It is the tribe that I, happily, find myself in.
One of my favourite things about teaching art, is the time spent with like-minded people. I love the quiet moments when everyone is engrossed in their art, and the sparky conversations amongst supportive, empathetic women. I don’t think that I’m alone in valuing this community and so I decided to create an art journaling session for my tribe, the Queenage Art Journalers!
In contrast to my online courses where I focus on teaching numerous techniques, these sessions are less structured. The classes are limited to 15 participants and are designed to feel like a gathering of friends, where learning happens organically. The classes are casual and flexible; I gently guide each session with a theme or a prompt to stimulate your imagination, but there is no formal instruction, you're free to interpret the theme in a way that resonates with you, and at your own pace.
Like most art journalers, I love the hidden spaces in journals that can hold secret notes, fragments of fabrics and intriguing photographs. In the next session, I'm going to be experimenting with ways of creating pockets and tuck spots. Â Join me as I explore different ideas during the next Queenager Art Journaling session on Sunday 23 June.
This Queenage Art Journaling class is an open invitation to all women who believe they could benefit from this creative outlet. Whether you're an experienced artist, a curious beginner, or simply someone seeking a supportive community and a therapeutic activity, this class is for you. It's not about skill or prior experience, it's about the desire to explore, express, and connect.
If you'd welcome a couple of hours of joyful creativity, please join us!
 With love,Â
Jane.
The duration of the class is 2 hours.
The start time is 5.30 PM BST/UK - please check the timing for your time zone.Â
